DIY Baby Swaddling Blankets

About half a year ago, my friend told me to watch this video called The Happiest Baby on the Block to see some nice techniques on how to calm a crying newborn, such as swaddling (aka binding up your infant like a mummy). Not knowing that I was going to get a gazillion receiving blankets from distant relatives, I decided that I wanted make my own swaddling sheets with funky, personalized patterns.

Can you guess which two patterns K picked? Yes, those would be cats with visible brains...

I will admit, I have a huge aversion to sewing. But the "instructions" involved simply buying a large  square of muslim or flannel (40 x 40 inches or more), folding the edges over twice, and sewing the hem down. No problem, I got this! Yeah... that stack of fabric sat there in my to-do craft pile for, well, approximately half a year. Luckily, my mom-in-law offered to come over and help me cook those freezer meals, and instead, I put her to work at my sewing machine. Thank you, K's mother!!

Cute, you should find a pac-man pattern for your blankets!

I didn´t use swadle, but music, my kids were reallly funny because I could leave them with music and when de (imagine the years ago)record finished they woke up, cry a little, then I changed the record, and that was about it, I also didn´t use pacifiers, I had cats (and still do) and gave them sugar cane when they were theeting, remember every mom and every kid is unique, you´ll see, but as (we) scouts say "be prepared"

@GeekTurtle - I haven't tried to use music yet, but I should! I have several lovely lullaby CDs given to me by friends that I should crack open.
