Naming Conventions

Oof, I decided I didn't like the name "Gwen" for myself because poor K only gets one initial, so it just sounds better if I match him. From henceforth, I shall sign off by the pen name "A"! So that this post won't be utterly boring, I've also made a collection of top gaming acronyms (excluding game titles) that should help all you newbies out there. Feel free to comment with some more and I'll add them to the list:

AoEarea of effect
the radius of damage from an attack, e.g. a bullet can hit one man but a grenade can hit many men within a certain radius
CGcomputer graphics
Dungeons and Dragons
a famous RPG game traditionally played with pen, paper, and dice
DPSdamage per second
the average rate of damage inflicted over time, e.g. a certain sword may inflict 15 damage points every hit and you can swing it every 0.5 seconds, so you can use DPS to compare the sword to a stronger but slower weapon
Nintendo DS
the Nintendo handheld portable that came after the Gameboy Advance
FPSfirst-person shooter
GUIgraphic user interface
MMO or MMOGmassively multiplayer online game
NPCnon-player character
a character controlled by the video game, not by another human
PS2 or PS3PlayStation 2 or 3
PlayStation Portable
Sony's handheld game console, in the same generation as the Nintendo DS
PvPplayer verses player
games where players compete against each other, such as FPS or RTS; also known as player killing in MMORPGs
