Jessi's Bowl

Remember my friend Jessi, the one with the Etsy jewelry store? Well, one of her favorite things to do is browse Etsy.com for cool, little treasures, and she came upon something that just screamed "I must buy this for A!"

Imagine my surprise when I got a package in the mail that was decidedly lighter than the 7-quart dutch oven I had just purchased online. Inside was a beautiful bowl with decorative flower-shaped holes all over it. So... not for food. Perplexed, I tried to think of a polite way to ask Jessi what had inspired this unexpected gift without outright saying "What's this for?"

It turns out some brilliant potter/knitter thought to combine her two loves by making a bowl for holding yarn. The description on her site:

"You just place the yarn ball in the bowl and pull the thread through one of the holes as you knit. The bowl will keep the ball from rolling across the floor, out of your kitty's playful paws, and it will twist and turn in the bowl as it gets unraveled while you knit! This design has multiple holes in the shape of leaves and flowers, so that you can work with 3 or 4 different balls of yarn. Cute, dreamy, and useful too!"

Love love love my new yarn bowl! Thank you soooo much, Jessi!!

I just wanted to say I am in love with your bowl. As a knitter/crocheter with perpetually escaping yarn, I feel I may need to order one.... <3
