A Time to Mourn and A Time to Game

Leave it to my awesome husband to lead me back to the wading pool of video games. The weekend after my previous post, we completed our 2009 taxes and managed to secure some refund for all the work-related research expenses (aka video games) that K bought last year. On the way back from church, I was already dreaming about using that money to pay off a small chunk of the car loan, when K drives our vehicle straight into the Target parking lot.

"Oops, I must have taken a wrong turn. Gosh, I just don't know how we got here." K grinned, pretending to act all confused.

"Uhhh, what are you doing? I have a baby shower in less than 50 minutes, and we haven't eaten lunch yet." I stubbornly remained in the car, waiting for an explanation.

He smiled mysteriously, "I guess since we're already here, we might as well take a look inside..."

Turns out K had planned to use our tax refund to buy me a new Nintendo DSi all along! #O_O# I couldn't believe it! I mean, I wasn't ready to get a replacement. I was still in the mourning/self-punishment phase. It took some convincing, but I finally agreed to accept K's kindness. Say hello to the newest member of our digital equipment family:

To help break in Little Miss Marshmellow, K is getting me Bowser's Inside Story, the recently released and highly rated Mario action-adventure RPG. This will be his second attempt at rousing my interest in RPGs, so we'll see how it goes...

Yay for your new baby! ;) The gamer has been trying to get me a DS for a long time but I can just never justify the expense! One day maybe!

Yeah, I know! I just about fainted when I saw the price tag, but K wouldn't let me go home without it. It's probably to pay me back for doing all the tax filing this year. ^_~
